The EDGE stands for Every Day God Experience

We want our 6^th-12^th graders leaving our Sunday & Wednesday night programs fully aware that God goes with them everywhere. Their faith is an everyday experience where God strengthens and helps us be great examples for Him. Come join us on Sunday nights where we worship together with our own Youth Band and than split up into small groups depending on age. We also have a GREAT in-depth Bible Study with our youth on Wednesday nights that helps the kids navigate their way through the Bible and truly understand the Word. We hope to see you join us this week!!!

The Edge News

First of all, we welcome Tony Sorrell as our new youth minister.  We are looking forward to working together to reach and impact all teenager in grades 6-12.  Please be in prayer as we evaluate the direction and vision of our youth ministry for the 2011 year.  We are looking for adults to come along side us as we strive to minister to teenagers in all scopes and levels of spiritual maturity.  Everything from weekly small group leaders, Sunday School teachers, possible weekly drivers (CDL not necessary), decorators, handymen, and prayer warriors.  Please email tsorrell@firstchurchpo.org with ways in which you can be involved.  And most importantly, you do not need to be a parent of a teenager to volunteer.  We take college students, single, married, empty nesters and grandmas and grandpas.  We are having a Purpose and Planning Retreat on Saturday January 29^th, 2011 and would love to hear from you before then.  That way we can invite you to join us for that and start getting you plugged.  It’s a new day and new hope for God to do some amazing things in the lives of our teens.  And don’t be surprised if God changes you too.

The youth ministry meets on Sunday nights from 5:30p-7:30p.  We also get together on Wednesdays 7pm-8:30p for a bible study.
